Plumbing that keeps the kitchen running
A kitchen has several plumbing parts working together in a tight space — sink basins, faucets, shut-off valves, supply lines, traps, disposals, dishwasher lines, and remodel connections all need to be set up correctly.
This page focuses on kitchen-wide and remodel plumbing. For dedicated disposal work see garbage disposal; for faucet problems see faucet & fixture repair; for stubborn clogs see drain cleaning. Call (386) 353-9386 for kitchen plumbing help.
Kitchen plumbing services
Repairs, fixture changes, hookups, and the plumbing side of remodel work.
Kitchen sink plumbing
The center of the room’s plumbing. We handle leaking sink plumbing, loose drain parts, damaged traps, poor drainage, and adjustments for sink replacement.
Leaks under the sink
Drips from drain connections, P-traps, supply lines, shut-off valves, faucet or disposal connections, or the dishwasher hose. We find the source and repair it.
See Leak Detection →Dishwasher connections
The plumbing side of dishwasher install and replacement — water supply line, drain hose, shut-off valve, and sink or disposal drain connection (not appliance repair).
Kitchen drain connections
Drains collect grease, soap, food residue, and debris. A slow drain may be the trap, disposal connection, branch drain, or deeper line.
See Drain Cleaning →Fixture changes
Changing a sink, faucet, disposal, or dishwasher needs the new fixture connected properly to the existing supply and drain system, with leak checks.
See Faucet & Fixture Repair →Kitchen remodel plumbing
Moving a sink, changing a dishwasher location, replacing a basin, adjusting drains, or preparing plumbing for a new layout — the plumbing side of remodels.
Kitchen sink & drain plumbing
Daily use without leaks, odors, or backups.
Sink drain problems
Grease, food debris, soap buildup, and residue slow the drain. The clog may be in the P-trap or farther down — repeated short-term fixes mean it should be checked.
See Drain Cleaning →P-trap leaks
The curved pipe under the sink stops sewer gas and catches debris. Loose, cracked, or misaligned, it can leak into the cabinet and create odors.
Supply line leaks
Hot and cold lines to the faucet can loosen, wear, or leak at the connections. A small drip can still damage the cabinet over time.
Shut-off valve problems
The valves under the sink stop water to the faucet or dishwasher line. Stuck, corroded, or leaking valves make future repairs harder.
Odors from the sink area
Trapped food waste, a dirty disposal, a dry trap, or a drain connection problem. If odors return after cleaning, the setup needs attention.
Dishwasher plumbing connections
We focus on the plumbing side — supply, drain, and connections.
Water supply line
The dishwasher needs a water supply connection. A leaking, loose, or newly connected line should be handled carefully.
Drain hose
Carries water from the dishwasher into the kitchen drain. Loose, kinked, poorly connected, or leaking, water shows up under the sink or appliance.
Disposal connection
Many dishwashers drain through the disposal or nearby sink drain. If the disposal is replaced, the dishwasher drain must be set up properly.
See Garbage Disposal →Replacement hookups
When replacing a dishwasher, we disconnect and reconnect water and drain lines when the setup allows — plumbing connections, not appliance-level work.
Plumbing connections, not appliance repair
We handle the plumbing side of dishwashers — water supply, drain hose, shut-off valve, and disposal/sink drain connections, plus plumbing-side leak checks.
This isn’t appliance repair. If the issue is the dishwasher door, tub, pump, motor, heating, or control board, an appliance-repair provider may be needed.
Kitchen remodel plumbing
A remodel is the right time to make sure the hidden plumbing fits the new layout.
New sink plumbing
Basin depth, drain location, disposal connection, and cabinet layout affect the fit. We connect the drain, P-trap, supply lines, and shut-off valves.
Moving the kitchen sink
More involved than a same-spot swap — it may need moved supply and drain lines, venting considerations, and dishwasher connections, planned before cabinets.
Adding or moving a dishwasher
Adding or relocating a dishwasher during a remodel may require water-supply and drain connection changes. We handle the plumbing-side connections.
Fixing old problems first
A remodel is a good time to address old shut-off valves, slow drains, worn supply lines, poor drain alignment, and hidden leaks before new finishes go in.
Kitchen leaks & water damage
Kitchen leaks hide in cabinets or behind appliances and cause damage before they’re obvious.
Common leak areas
Faucet connections, supply lines, shut-off valves, sink drain connections, P-traps, disposal connections, dishwasher hoses, and ice-maker lines.
Signs of a leak
Damp cabinets, warped cabinet flooring, musty odors, water stains, soft wood, bubbling paint, loose flooring, or water under the dishwasher.
See Leak Detection →Why fast repair matters
Water under the sink damages cabinet floors, baseboards, flooring, and drywall. In the humid climate, trapped moisture makes odors and damage harder to control.
Water leaking under the kitchen sink?
A few simple steps can reduce damage before service.
Turn off the water
If it’s from a supply line or faucet connection, turn off the shut-off valves under the sink. If those don’t work, shut off the main supply.
Stop using the sink
If the leak happens when the sink drains, stop running water until the drain connection can be checked.
Clear the cabinet
Remove stored items from under the sink so they don’t soak up water.
Dry the area
Use towels to dry the cabinet floor and nearby plumbing so you can see whether water is still leaking.
